Such a treat reading these every week. Love your writing (and the BitR pod and videos); thanks for sharing all the stories. It makes me want to write more, to reflect on life. I also had a pair of Nike shox (from the Nike outlet) that I bought for running back in the day. They looked cool and the concept sounded good on paper. Good thing I was too lazy to run back them.

I’m also part of the Epic React is the GOAT club. I owned 3 pairs and logged over 3000km combined in them. So good.

1. You ran a bunch when we played intramural indoor soccer, racquetball, and tennis.

2. Let's start a race where you have to smoke a cigarette, cigar, or pipe the whole time you are running.

Love ya!

ON shoes remind me of Nike Shox. Which is cooler?

I think the newest, less cloud-pronounced versions are cooler, but Shox are definitely cooler than early On models

Hey man, nice read - I just subscribed.

I was recently made redundant from a job that I don't think I want to be doing any more (lucky me?!) and your words - "my dream would be to somehow have a job that revolved around running" - really resonate with me. I had a very similar conversation with my wife about a week ago while we strategized my next career move together.

Sadly, she doesn't also happen to run a fledgling running/media brand, but that's not exactly the point and apparently, isn't something I'm allowed to get mad at her for...

Anyway, I guess the point I wanted to make is that your account of running after your dreams, made for a well-timed, super encouraging read that I didn't know I needed. Thanks.

Lots to ponder on my next run...

All the best,

Ali

NB: I also LOVE my Superblasts. Bought, in part, because of BITR's recommendations 😉

Very cool (not about being made redundant), but everything else. Sometimes it's for the best, even if it's scary in the moment. If I can tell you one thing, whatever you choose to do, go all-in on it and stay consistent. And you don't have to have it all figure out in the beginning, the biggest hurdle is just starting! If you're building your own thing from the ground up, it's gonna suck and you're gonna be terrible, but if you consistently do your best, the path will open.
